Support for Boo Hewerdine at Storey's Field Centre
I am delighted to be playing a support set for Boo Hewerdine at the beautiful Storey's Field Centre for Cambridge Folk Club. Friday 12th April. Doors 7:30pm. Come along to hear a wonderful songwriter in a fantastic venue.
Although I have only met Boo a couple of times, he has had a huge impact on my music.
In 2016 I attended an Arvon songwriting course. I was mentored by two wonderful songwriters, Kathryn Williamsand Samantha Parton. Boo joined us for one evening as a guest speaker. He treated us to an intimate gig and gave us songwriting advice. He recalled a time when he had been writing songs with Duke Special about a set of photographs (for the album ‘Under the Dark Cloth’). This reminded me of a song I had written about a postcard of a David Hockney painting. I then began my project of writing songs about postcards, culminating in my debut album. I am very grateful to Boo for sparking this idea.
