Originally from Milton Keynes, Anna Hester is an acoustic folk-pop singer-songwriter based in Cambridge. Her debut EP ‘In The Meantime’ was released in 2014, and received praise from Paul Rawcliffe at Fatea Records: ‘powerful and confident voice that positively booms out songs’. The EP is available to download on Bandcamp.
In September 2016 Anna attended a songwriting course run by the organisation Arvon, where she received interest and encouragement from the tutors, Kathryn Williams and Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas). Inspired by the course, Anna is currently undertaking a songwriting project called The Postcard Project, with the intention of recording a new EP in 2017.
An experienced performer, Anna has performed widely in London, Cambridge, Milton Keyes, and Berlin, both in intimate settings provided by Sofar Sounds and in bigger venues such as The Good Ship in Kilburn and Milton Keynes International Festival 2014 and 2016.
