A singer-songwriter who moves ‘effortlessly between genres, but always with an emotional core’ (Cambridge Music Reviews). Anna Hester’s debut EP was released in 2014, and she received praise from Fatea Magazine for her ‘powerful and confident voice that positively booms out songs’. Her second EP, Towards Today, produced by singer-songwriter and producer Dan Wilde, was released in November 2018.
In 2016 Anna attended an Arvon songwriting course, where she received interest and encouragement from tutors Kathryn Williams and Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas), and from guest speaker Boo Hewerdine. Inspired by the course, Anna undertook a songwriting project inspired by postcards. She is now recording her first album: a collection of postcard songs, due for release in 2021.
Anna has performed widely in Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, London and Berlin, in a range of venues from cosy canal boats in Ely to support slots at The Stables Stage 2 (Milton Keynes) and the acoustic stage at Milton Keynes International Festival in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
